Scott Simkus has sent in his compilation of the 1909 Cuban Stars, with batting and pitching statistics versus all competition:

This team featured Luis Padrón, who joined the club in late July after his tryout with the Chicago White Sox, as well as José Méndez, who reportedly went 44-2. Here’s what Scott has to say about the season, plus a request for research help at the end:
I've collected 50 box scores for 72 games. This famous ballclub went 43-27-2 overall (in the games which have so far been uncovered). Their record against college teams was 2-0 (including a victory over Notre Dame in South Bend), 24-12-2 agains the top semi-pro competition in Chicago and northern Illinois, plus 17-15 against major black teams (Leland Giants, Phil. Giants, KC Giants and Brooklyn Royal Giants).
Couple curiosities... José Méndez was reported to have gone 44-2 during the Summer. I have him at 14-2 with two saves. He was awesome, and I'm clearly missing some games, but 44 wins.... ah, well, highly unlikely. He hurt his thumb in a start against the Leland Giants, left after the first inning, and didn't pitch for almost three weeks. In what I believe was his first start after the injury, he tossed a no-hitter against Rogers Park (white semi-pro). This game has sometimes been reported as a “perfect game,” but it was not. It was, though, a ten-inning affair. Méndez walked 4 and had a season LOW in strikeouts- one! As you'll see, he averaged over 9 k per 9 ip. He dominated like Paige would dominate 25 years later.
An appeal you might post with the spread sheet... My coverage of the Cuban Stars begins June 1... Your ship manifests says the majority of the team arrived May 1. What did the team do their first month here? With my limited resources, I have no record of the Cuban Stars in May, as they worked their way from NY to Chicago. Can anybody help? Also, I have line scores for many games in September, when the Cubans went back to the east coast, but only one box score (against Newport, RI). Does anybody have access to boxes for the Cuban Stars for September games, before they returned to Havana for the American series???
Thanks, Scott
