There are three tabs:
1) Batting: Each batter’s statistics, grouped by team. OPS+ is calculated relative to league averages with pitchers removed, as baseball-reference.com does it, but without park adjustments (which would be a little complicated, given the unbalanced schedules). Lincoln Stars are listed under both western and eastern clubs; at the bottom are their players' totals.
2) Team Batting: Team and league totals.
3) Batter Totals: Total batting statistics for each player, combining all the teams he played for, in both regions.
A couple notes:
--RBI, caught stealing, and batters’ strikeouts (except for team totals) are not included, because they are only available sporadically from game stories and play-by-play accounts. Sac flies are included with sac hits, because they are not usually separated out.
--Box scores for 33 games (all but one for games played in Chicago) lacked at bats, meaning that not only at bats, but also walks had to be estimated for those games. I’ll go into my methods for doing this in a later post.
